In Japanese they don't like to have really definite opinions incase they offend someone or get the facts wrong, so they use a sense of あいまい (ambiguity). We decided that 'like' in this context is something similar - If I say 'she said "woah"' then that implies that those were here exact words, wheras if I say 'she was like "woah"', I'm not making a definite statement that that was what she said.Sofihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14905844625108137697noreply@blogger.com
